Bioinformatics and Data Science

We are excited to announce the development of a Bioinformatics and Data Science (BDS) undergraduate major. BDS was developed in collaboration with our colleagues in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, and other Life Science programs. Once available, BDS will offer students a rigorous transdisciplinary program that promotes classroom, collaborative, and experiential learning experiences. Students will be challenged and learn important skills such as scientific method, quantitative thinking, critical thinking, and teamwork. Students will be able to pursue options in Molecular Genomics, Ecological Genomics, and Data Sciences, but regardless of their option, a strong sense of disciplinary identity will be supported by encouraging continual interactions among students in the program.

Please check back for news regarding our progress towards offering BDS at OSU.
